I recently encountered and captured a Toedscool in Pokémon Scarlet, as you can see from the picture Toedscool is a pretty obvious palette swap of a Tentacool. Its evolution, Toedscruel makes that even clearer. As such Toedscool seems to be the Paldean regional variant of Tentacool in all but name and official categorisation.
